From San Marco di Castellabate, starting from the intersection of Via Alferio Cilento and Via Lo schiavo, walk up the dirt slope for about 1 km, turning left for the indicated junction. Continue uphill for about 1.5 km, passing first through the woods and then near two villas, to arrive in front of the entrance to the now closed Hotel Castelsandra.
Turn left and, after 200 meters, take the dirt path on the right that goes uphill flanking the former Hotel. You will pass through the pine forest, planted in 1935, and come to a clearing; the dirt road climbs 200 meters to the ruins of a World War II military post. You can stop and admire the beautiful view that sweeps from Salerno to Cape Palinuro. Continue downhill for about 2 km passing through the Mediterranean scrub forest to another ruin, located above the island of Licosa. Even from this position it is possible to admire an amazing view of the Gulf of Salerno.
You can continue downhill to Punta Licosa and continue the tour by going left, passing through the Aleppo pine forest, to the bay of Ogliastro Marina. Or turn right and continue for 4 km arriving at the Port of San Marco.
